Praise Him

Wow! It has been a while since I’ve done one of these. But by God’s grace, we are hopping back on the wagon. For those that don't know we started a new series this last week called Power in Praise. This is most likely going to be my favorite series that we have done so far, and usually series last about a month or so, but this one could easily go for 2 months. There is a lot to be thankful for, there is a lot to praise God for. For those that don't know our church just got out of debt, after being in the hole pretty bad, not to mention we have also had some baptisms take place and on top of that we have had three precious babies born in our congregation. Talk about praise!

Even in my own life, there is so much to praise about! I got married, bought a house, my wife got a job that she loves. It seems like blessings are being poured our way. But can you believe a few days before the sermon series began, I was going through a moment of sadness? After all the ways that God has blessed, what is the reason to be on the verge of tears? Makes no sense. God had to wake me up. And he did so by just asking, “Samson am I good? Am I worthy of praise? Have I not blessed you?” And the truth is He is saying that to all of us.

It’s so easy to lose sight of all the blessings that are taking place in our lives. It's easy for us to focus on what we don't have rather than what we have. Miracles are constantly surrounding us and God is asking us the question, do you see them? Do you see the miracles? Then why aren’t you rejoicing?

What is keeping you from doing a back-flip for the Lord? Okay, maybe you aren’t in shape like me. But what is keeping you from truly rejoicing in His name? What keeps you from sending up shouts of praise throughout the day for little things that He does for you? What keeps you from sharing your testimony as to how good God has been in your life and in the lives of those around you?

As soon as I began to praise God for everything, as I began to look for the little things, they never became so big before. To wake up and allow our first thoughts to be thank you. To go through the day and thank Him that even though you may have not got everything done that you wanted to, you still have the strength to move and groove and that is a blessing. I encourage you to join our church in praising Him. And you will see your perspective changed. Blessings and Happy Week!
